Council Scores "Breakout Performance" with Adidas

This was one of the most fun projects we’ve worked on! Council Bradshaw (partner and Creative Director of Deja View Media) led the DVM team in the field and in post as we created a sales video for Adidas that enables their national sales force to show off the Spring 2007 line up of Adidas kids’ outerwear. Graphic Collective, a leading design firm that is responsible for the look of all the Adidas kids’ outerwear, set the theme for this year’s sales initiative as “Breakout Performance”. They wanted something that really caught the attention of the Belk and Macy’s buyers and showed off the clothes in a creative-sports-fun-breakout-performance kind of way.
Oh, and did we mention that we had a total of 10 days to pull it off? Can you say…”coffee”?

Council and company shot for a day with the JVC GY-HD100U at a park using the basketball court and surrounding ball fields. We took a portable green screen and white screen in order to get some of our composite shots. The kids were a lot of fun to work with…for a while…and later we kept them happy with McDonald’s kids meals and candy.

Post production had to be fast, so Council went straight into the editing room after the shoot. Select shots and digital stills were chosen quickly for compositing. Incorporating promotional design elements from Graphic Collective, the creative and editing process focused on keeping the hip, somewhat old-school, organic look while presenting the garments in a cutting edge motif. The final outcome was a big hit with Graphic Collective and Adidas. We’ll post the final production very soon.
