Tim Shoots Meatloaf in London for Notion Music

I have to admit, I haven’t been an avid Meatloaf fan through the years. But my admiration for what he’s accomplished and his music has grown as a result of this project. I was surprised as you might be to find out that “Bat Out Of Hell”, Meatloaf’s debut album in 1977 has sold more copies than Michael Jackson’s “Thriller” and continues to sell almost half a million copies annually. Mealoaf kicked off his promotional tour of the new album “Bat Out Of Hell III: The Monster Is Loose” in London at the historic Royal Albert Hall.

So how did this gig come about? DVM was hired to produce a promo video for Notion Music in conjunction with Bluezoom Sensory Marketing. Notion Music (www.notionmusic.com) has developed a powerful software product, Notion, that is quickly becoming a market leader for music annotation and live performance. The arranger and conductor for Meatloaf, Keith Levenson, was so impressed with the product that he insisted on using Notion to augment the 16 piece orchestra for the tour.

Shooting took place over 9 days in London with the SDX-900 and the final result will be a “behind the music” style of documentary production for Notion Music. Below are more pictures from the trip.

It was fun hanging out with the band. This is me and John Miceli, Mealoaf’s drummer of 15 years.
